KFan's Rube Chat -

Just curious on how many people are members of KFan's rube chat and if so how many enjoy their forums?

Very interested in your opinions!

There are some good posters, but lot of clueless people.

Great point, Bill.

We all make fun of Rube Chat, but you are right. It's no different in any board. When a team is losing, it's tough to manage message boards with the whining and personal attacks. I know people say you have to be supporting and enthauistic, but that's hard to do. Everyone hates losing. I am sure this board will have that once we get it going. With that said, I rarely see intelligent conversation over there if you ever read it. That's what I was trying to get at.

You can have lot of people, but my English teacher once told me that it's about quality not quantity of words in an essay.

Weather winning or losing I think it is important to remain a fan. I know that it can be tough being a Vikings fan and watching them go through a transition...

or being a Timberwolves fan and watching them continue to come up short and not make the right decisions.

or being a Twins fan and watching them have a great season then fall short in the playoffs.

or being a Minnesota Gopher Football fan and have to watch another "rebuilding year"

At least we have the Wild this year!

Bill: There is this Timberwolves fan who thinks I am a jerk because I rip them everyday. Obviously, my threads have reflect that. With that said, does it make me a bad fan for ripping them. I don't think so. I still watch the games. I read about them. I post about them. If I ignore them, that would not make me a fan.

Look it's hard to win a championship. I understand that. You have to have a special group of players to get it done and you need to have a smart management. It takes luck. With that said, is it too much to ask for these guys to play hard and play smart. They are paid professionals too.

I can live with the Twins underachieving in the playoffs because at least, they don't roll over and they are exciting. Vikings have proven to be a quality team during the Denny Green years so I was never down on them. The 2004 Wolves team provided a great ride. The Wild rock. Fans should appreciate them.

What they can't appreciate is ineptcy from teams like the Gophers basketball team or the Wolves. It does not make them bad fans IMO. They just want changes or something done. Gophers football fans were in full rights to demand Mason's ouster because Mason did not seem to think winning conference games were that important, which is a joke itself considering he is coaching in a major conference and he got paid well to get the job done. Same with Monson. It will also be time for Pam Borton to start getting it done starting next year or it maybe time for a change there too.

Fans have every right to demand excellence with their product. They work hard from 9 to 5 or in the overnights so they should get something to enjoy to keep their minds about the difficulties of life and paying bills. They pay for these players and coaches salaries via cable bills and at the games so they should demand a great product.

As long as MN Sports Teams compete and play well, that's all that matters to me.

Hey all,
First post here, and yes I'm a member of rube chat. Love the board and yes I've met dozens of rubes, pobably a hundred or so, for the most part they are great fun.
As for the board, there are some problem people, but they just got a new provider and brand new board, came online yesterday. Now we can "ignore" those problem people if we choose. The complete changeover must be taking place now, as I can't get to the website right now.

The chatter there is good, sometimes it gets heated, as in political threads, but overall, I think it's a great board.

Hope that answers some questions you may have.
